The S. G. Torrice Company was founded by Samuel G. Torrice at a small warehouse in Melrose, Massachusetts that was only staffed by two employees - Samuel Torrice and John Clemens.
S. G. Torrice moved headquarters to Woburn, Massachusetts at 35 Industrial Way. The 15,000 square foot location brought the company closer to major highways and customers.
Built our new corporate headquarters at 14 Everberg Road in Woburn, Massachusetts. Location started with 15,000 square feet and included a warehouse, showroom and fabrication shop. The space eventually expanded to 40,000 square feet to accommodate our growing business.
Acquired the Sanyo ductless equipment line, our first line of ductless equipment.
Acquired the WeatherKing line of unitary equipment. This helped the company grow towards larger HVAC equipment sales. Prior to the WeatherKing line, the company specialized in sheet metal fabrication while selling primarily accessories and supplies with limited Bard furnaces and air conditioners.
Opened the first outside branch of the company in Merrimack, New Hampshire, to grow our company throughout New England. The branch closed in 1989.
Acquired the American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning line of equipment, giving us a larger array of HVAC products. We are still a proud American Standard distributor to this day.
Opened our Randolph, Massachusetts branch to better serve our customers south of Boston after dealing with delays with the start of the Big Dig.
Opened a new branch in Hudson, New Hampshire.
Opened a new branch in Beverly, Massachusetts. This branch closed in 2003.
Opened a branch in Hyannis, Massachusetts to better serve our customers on Cape Cod and The Islands.
Acquired the Mitsubishi Electric Heating & Air Conditioning line of ductless equipment. We are still a proud Mitsubishi Electric distributor to this day.
Opened a branch in Peabody, MA on Centennial Drive to better serve the North Shore. Our branch in Peabody has moved to two separate locations on First Avenue in Peabody. It is currently at One First Avenue.
Opened a branch in Franklin, MA to better serve portions of MetroWest and Southern Massachusetts. This branch moved in 2018, becoming our Southern Distribution Center in Mansfield, MA.
Moved our Corporate Headquarters to 80 Industrial Way in Wilmington, MA, where we are still located today. This 100,000-plus square foot facility houses a warehouse fully stocked with equipment, parts and accessories. It also houses a 25,000-plus square foot, full custom sheet metal shop as well as customer ordering counter, a showroom, training room and our Inside Sales staff and corporate offices.
Expanded our reach in New Hampshire by opening a branch in Portsmouth, NH at 115 Heritage Avenue, Suite B.
Opened our first Rhode Island branch in Providence at 300 Niantic Avenue to better serve Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
Opened our first branch in the city of Boston at 30 Northampton Street, Rear. This helped us better serve our customers in the city and Greater Boston areas while helping cut down on delivery times in the city.
Acquired the Trane line of equipment, making us a dual distributor with Trane Technologies and giving us a larger array of HVAC products. We are still a proud Trane distributor to this day.
Expanded our distribution abilities by opening our Southern distribution center and branch at 600 West Street in Mansfield, MA.
Opened a branch at 164 Locke Drive in Marlborough, MA to better serve MetroWest and the Worcester area.
Expanded our reach into Maine by opening a Branch at 5 Karen Drive in Westbrook - just minutes from Portland. We proudly offer Trane residential and commercial equipment along with the Trane Ductless line of equipment.
Continued to expand our reach in New Hampshire by opening a branch at 2 Keller Drive in Manchester. This branch allows us to have a better reach to the lakes region and Northern New Hampshire.
Opened our first Vermont at 150 Krupp Drive in Williston. This allowed our team to have a presence in Vermont for the first time. We proudly offer Trane residential and commercial equipment along with the Trane Ductless line of equipment.
